      Hi,

At the moment my project is going really well. I investigate new drugs for the neglected tropical disease leishmaniasis. The disease is caused by parasites and I have found some drugs that work well at killing these parasites, so in the future could maybe be used to treat the disease!

Also, recently I’ve published some scientific papers. This means that I have written my experiments into an article that has been approved by other scientists. Before the article is published, the other scientists have to decide whether the work is worth publishing and whether there are any experiments needed to improve the work. To get a paper published in a scientific journal is really exciting and what most scientists aim to do!

      Hi
That’s a good question thanks! Our project is going really well at the moment. Today I managed to do something that we havent been able to do for the last 2 years, I think – I’ll find out tomorrow! We were award some money recently and that starts soon so we have a really good idea of what we need to do and good funding for the next 3 years and we’ve got a lot of work to do because we’re aiming to be ready for patients at the end of that.

      Hi 932drug42,

It’s going pretty well thank you! 🙂 I’ve almost finished my PhD, and we are just submitting a paper on the new highly selective G-quadruplex drugs that I’ve made. I’ve enjoyed it a lot, however as with all science, getting an answer to something usually just raises more questions than it answers!
