• Question: if we were to find other lifeforms in space, what would they most likely be like? and what animals already on earth could actually survive in space?

      Hi Cubey,

      I think if we were to find other lifeforms in space, they would be bacteria. Bacteria are single celled lifeforms, and are somewhat less complex than big animals. Scientists have shown that bacteria were the first things to appear on Earth, so I think it’s likely that lifeforms similar to bacteria would be the most likely beings to survive in space.

      Bacteria on Earth live in incredibly varied and difficult environments, for example, in radioactive waste or in a volcano! They can survive very acidic environments, with no oxygen, where it’s very warm or very cold or with really toxic chemicals so these are the most likely things to be able to survive in space.

      I agree with Hannah.

      Bacteria are everywhere so it wouldn’t surprise me if they were on any other planet also.
