      Hi Izzy,

That’s a great question! You can do all the sorts of operations with 0, like adding, subtracting or multiplying to get real number answers, therefore I think 0 is a number.

Wikipedia also says 0 is a number: “0 (zero; BrE: /ˈzɪərəʊ/ or AmE: /ˈziːroʊ/) is both a number and the numerical digit used to represent that number in numerals.” From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/0_%28number%29

      Hi Izzy,

If it’s not a number what is it? It’s true that it represents an absense of value, but as Hannah said you can use it in mathematics, and although it has no ‘value’ it certainly is numeral!

My counter question: is infinity a number?
