      Hi Sloth,

I think when we die our minds become a state of total peace, with no worry or fear. Well, with not much at all really. Physically, however, we just change shape. Everything that ever made up ‘you’ still exists, you’re just less ordered than you were before.

More importantly, all the choices you make, and all the people you meet, will have been affected by you and what you did while you were alive. So making wise choices in life could ripple on through time, long after you are gone.

      What do you think?

      Hi Izzy,

I think you can think about this in two parts. What happens to our body? What happens to our consciousness? Personally, I’d like to think when we die our mind and consciousness enter a state of peace and ‘nothingness’. As Oli said as well, even though someone may be dead, while people still think about them and remember the person they were, they’re still very much alive in memory!

      Hi
From a science perspective when we die the billions of atoms in the body are rearranged into other things, which is quite cool if you think about it because the molecules that existed in the body are broken down and recycled into other organisms or materials in nature so could become a huge range of things!
Everything we do in life can have far reaching impacts like the butterfly effect, and leave behind memories and relationships.
Of course other people have other ideas about what might happen when we die and its a personal choice which ideas you follow so we should respect other ideas too.

      Hi Izzy the Sloth,

      Good question!

As the others have said, all of the atoms that make us up will go on to be a part of new life and other organisms! Which is a nice end for our physical selves I think.

We’re all going to die at some point, and you never know when life might take you… so my philosohy is to just seize the day and make the most of the time that we are given on this planet! 🙂

      carpe diem.

      Steve
