• Question: What is your favourite piece of scientific equipment?

      Hi Joe
      We just got a robotic machine that puts tiny amounts of liquid into tiny tubes, which I realise doesn’t sound amazing but it means it does a lot of the less interesting work for me and makes it faster!

      That’s a very good question 🙂

      Mine would have to be our prep HPLC! It allows us to purify any molecule that we’ve made, relatively easily… (which believe me, can be a massive pain when you are a synthetic chemist!). Scientists normally love pieces of equipment that make their jobs easier, and mean we have to do less of the less exciting or unsuccessful things!! 🙂
